Published originally in 1988 in hardback with a dust wrapper.  192 pages with colour and black & white photos.  Some line diagrams of tackle and venues.  Subjects covered are the life cycle of the bass, food, natural baits, tackle, fishing rocky shores, estuaries and piers, and case studies of fishing real venues.  Good solid practical advice with many descriptions of actual venues and how the authors fish them.  The tackle and techniques are just as relevant today.  This book is generally accepted as the ‘bible’ for shore bassing, especially plugging, and it’s been instrumental to a lot of us in starting or restarting plugging. It was very scarce for a period but the updated edition in 2005 has made it easily available new or secondhand.
